Statue of Liberty Field Trip

On May 15, 2001 the Dalet High School students went to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty for a field trip.  After a ferry trip to Ellis Island, we toured the museum there.  We learned about the immigration system on Ellis Island.  It was an immigration station for more than 60 years and was in use until 1954.

Then we took the ferry to Liberty Island.  We climbed to the top of the statue.  The height of the statue and its pedestal is over 300 feet tall. From there we could see most of New York harbor.
